Fresh Romanian Wild Blueberries

Take advantage of fresh blueberries during their peak months of June, July and August.

Blueberries from our orchard are great fresh, easy to freeze and are the healthiest superfood you can eat.

Harvesting of the blueberries starts in the early hours of the morning, as soon as the dew has lifted from the fruit. The harvested fruit is sorted, packed in crates, then kept in cold storage until delivered to the courier. Delivery of the crates of fruit takes place in the evening, directly to the courier’s warehouse, one hour before the fruit is due to leave for its destination. The fruit is transported overnight to ensure that it reaches you as fresh as possible, on average 16-18 hours after picking.

Eating blueberries

– do not rinse blueberries under high-pressure water as the pressure can damage them; immerse them in a bowl of cold water and rinse gently, then allow the water to drain

– the fresher they are, the better for you

– eat fresh blueberries on their own, on breakfast cereals, in fruit salads as toppings; you can mix them into smoothies and milkshakes, fresh or frozen.

Keeping blueberries

Because our blueberries are fresh and delivered quickly, they can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks without any depreciation in taste, flavor or flesh consistency. For longer periods, we recommend freezing them. Frozen blueberries can be stored indefinitely.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. You can refrigerate them 30 minutes before eating to intensify the flavors.
